HEALTH
FUND
Good
Samaritan would like to start a health fund for its clients.
Our clients commonly suffer from respiratory problems, especially
during the winter, and dental problems. In addition, many
people that are not in our program but who belong to our
target population [orphans from Bihor County] often solicit
GSB for money to buy medicines.
In
wintertime, temperatures in Beius commonly reach minus 15
degrees Celsius (+5 Fahrenheit). Most of the orphans we
serve live in apartments without heat. In addition, some
of our clients work on outdoor construction sites. We have
noticed that among our clients, the incidence of respiratory
diseases and colds is higher than in the average population.
In
relation to oral care, our clients face two obstacles. Besides
not understanding the importance of dental care, they cannot
afford it. We would like to be able to offer dental supplies
to complement our instruction on proper oral care. In this
way, not only are we supplying knowledge, but we are giving
our clients the physical tools necessary to apply such instruction.
Good
Samaritan's revolving health fund would support our clients
in the purchasing of medicines, medical services, and dental
services and supplies. To learn the operating details of
this health fund, please contact us. If you would like to
donate to this fund, please click
here for contact information.
