Noah's Ark

Description
The Noah's Ark program is located in Finis, a small village four kilometers outside of Beius. This program trains orphans in the field of farming and, at some point in the future, how to raise animals. The youth learn such skills as fertilizing, planting seeds, weather and planting cycles, and greenhouse maintenance. After completing this program, youth are prepared to work for farmers, agricultural companies and greenhouses.

Noah's Ark is a partnership between Good Samaritan and the Fundatia Surorilor Minime de Beius (Foundation of the Little Sisters in Beius). Good Samaritan and the Little Sisters have purchased and renovated a small house and built a modern greenhouse in which to raise tomatoes, potatoes, onions, carrots, and other vegetables. The youth live in the house and work in the greenhouse.

Goals
Currently, the goals of this program are to have a total of five to six orphans in the program; to generate food products for the Good Samaritan restaurant and for the Little Sisters' family house; to raise animals for milk and meat; and to eventually generate income through the sale of vegetables to the public and to the orphans at a reduced rate.
