Good
Samaritan currently has four permanent vocational programs:
the restaurant, Noah's Ark, the carpentry shop, and the
Habitat pentru Umanitate partnership. Youths who are involved
with Good Samaritan programs learn job skills that will
help them obtain full-time, permanent positions after leaving
Good Samaritan.
Good
Samaritan Restaurant
The Good Samaritan restaurant program trains the youth in
food services professions such as cooking and waiting tables.
The youth learn such skills as food preparation, serving
food, and setting and bussing tables. After completing this
program, youth are prepared to work in restaurants and bakeries.

Noah's
Ark
The Noah's Ark program trains youth in the field of farming
and, at some point in the future, how to raise animals.
The youth learn such skills as fertilizing, planting seeds,
weather and planting cycles, and greenhouse maintenance.
After completing this program, youth are prepared to work
for farmers, agricultural companies and greenhouses.

Good
Samaritan Carpentry Shop
The carpentry shop program trains youth to work in the fields
of carpentry and woodworking. The youth learn such skills
as furniture and cabinet making, handling woodcutting equipment,
designing and building windows, doors and wood flooring.
After completing the program, youth are prepared to work
for professional carpentry shops and large furniture factories.

Partnership
with Habitat pentru Umanitate, Romania
With the Good Samaritan and Habitat pentru Umanitate partnership,
youngsters are able to work for a year on construction sites
managed by Habitat pentru Umanitate, Romania. They are able
to learn construction skills such as pouring and forming
house foundations, creating sidings, painting, roofing,
stuccoing, insulating walls, tiling, dry walling, and installing
doors and windows. These skills will help the youth obtain
jobs with professional construction companies.
