Description
The Good Samaritan restaurant program is located in downtown
Beius along the main street, Calea Bihorului. This program
trains orphans in food services professions such as cooking
and waiting tables. The youth learn such skills as food
preparation, serving food, and setting and bussing tables.
After completing this program, youth are prepared to work
in restaurants and bakeries.

The
restaurant opened in June 2001 with funding from Peter Little
Publications, located in Northern Ireland. The restaurant
is not yet open to the public, but currently serves the
Good Samaritan orphans, staff and volunteers, as well as
volunteers and staff from Habitat for Humanity.
Goals
The goal of the restaurant is to generate income by opening
to the public. In addition, we would like to hire two orphans
in full-time, permanent positions at the restaurant in order
to assist with training and supervising orphans who are
in the Good Samaritan program. We also plan to develop more
extensive training for 5-7 youngsters annually in order
to better prepare them for jobs in the food services industry.
